Hi Friends!
I am Carlie.
I have built a career in nonprofit and higher education sectors with over 10 years of experience in program management, event planning, fundraising, volunteer recruitment, and digital marketing. In 2023, I launched Connection Consulting to work with nonprofits as an event planner and consultant.
I was a 2024 bride (as you can see to the right —>)! I took my event planning skills and my husband and I created a micro wedding that was anything but traditional. We took our closest family and friends on a hike in the middle of Central New Mexico, we skipped a first dance, and gathered at a local restaurant to eat dinner under the stars. It was nothing short of perfect… for us!
Planning our micro wedding was deeply personal and challenged us to go against traditions we did not like, form our own opinions of what a wedding meant to us, and how we were going to execute it.
Through this process, I realized there is not a lot of room to break tradition and I wanted to create space for couples to be able to create a wedding that is authentic, intimate, and unique to them. And, so with that, Events by Carlie was born.
I lean on my years of event planning experience and passion for people to create this branch of my business dedicated to those looking for a planner who cares about the quirky, off-the-wall, non-traditional ideas.
So, that is why I am here!
I was born and raised in Southern California and have called New Mexico home since July of 2020. I have built a life I love with my husband and our Great Dane, Dorothy. I love the outdoors, thrifting, a good coffee shop, independent bookstores, and sharing a great meal with people I love.
